Emily Wessel Farr presented today at the The Law Project, www.thelawproject.org, as part of the organization's Nonprofit Compliance Institute (NCI) Workshop Series. The NCI launched in October, 2015, and is designed to inform staff and board members at existing 501c3 organizations about everyday activities that may risk the organization’s tax exemption.
Myra will offer a new type of opportunity for citizens dealing with issues holding stigma or shame. The Hidden Agenda Series offers one-hour talks touching on three common legal issues - some more sensitive than others. Myra's goal is to lower the barriers of entry to legal education for those who are in need of advice, but do not feel comfortable revealing a private matter by virtue of their attendance.
The series will target issues affecting women and families. All talks will be held in Chicago and will be free for attendees.
